Governed by elected directors, AWF is in favour of renewable energy and believes wind power has a role to play in a balanced energy strategy. However, it is opposed to inappropriately sited wind farms or too many wind farms in one area which have a negative effect on people’s lives, businesses, the landscape and wildlife. AWF campaigns to have wind farms sensitively sited so they do not have an adverse impact on tourist routes or destinations.
